Every year, the South Carolina International Trade Conference and its sponsors are proud to award several scholarships valued at $1500 to $2500 to deserving students.


Congratulations to our Scholarship Recipients!


Nabil is a rising senior with a 3.9 GPA at the University of South Carolina, where he is triple majoring in international business, global supply chains operations management and finance.  He is a Global Supply Chains Operations Management Scholar, a member of the Global Business Council and vice president of Delta Sigma Pi international business fraternity.  Through self-study he even passed the Six-Sigma Green-Belt Certification Exam from Sonoco Products Company in Hartsville in December 2007.  He is currently studying as a USC exchange student in Madrid.  Beyond his academic pursuits, he has worked as a trader support specialist with Wachovia Bank, developed a product sourcing strategy for a new wine company in the Columbia area and is currently working as a linguistic consultant.


Julius is a rising junior at The Citadel, majoring in business administration and earning a 4.0 departmental GPA in these studies.  He has shown leadership at The Citadel, both as a squad corporal and through his service as secretary of the Cadet Conservative Society.  Julius also has extensive work experience.  He plans to spend a Semester at Sea next spring, traveling aboard a ship, circumnavigating the globe and visiting 15 different cities around the world.


Brandon is a rising senior at Western Carolina University, majoring in business administration with a 3.6 GPA.  Through exceptional academic performance he has become a member of the Honors College and the International Honors Society for social sciences.  In the fall, he will be inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an honorary business fraternity.  Brandon was selected for an internship this summer at Lowe’s corporate headquarters in Wilkesboro, NC.

Patricia Diane Holder

Tricia is a rising senior at the College of Charleston with a 3.7 GPA, majoring in economics.  She is an excellent, well-rounded student.  In addition to academic achievement, she has volunteered her time and efforts for a number of charity causes and has also served in leadership roles as treasurer and president of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.  Tricia is a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Golden Key Society for being in the top 15% of her class.

Robert Stephen Wright

Stephen is a rising senior in the international business program at the University of South Carolina, where he maintains a 3.93 GPA.  He is double majoring in international business and finance, with a double minor in Chinese and French.  Stephen was selected as an Emerging Leader by the Moore School of Business and was awarded the Freeman-Asia Scholarship for study in Asia.  He studied Mandarin Chinese during a semester abroad at Peking University in Beijing.  In addition to his academic achievements, Stephen interned both in the U.S. and in China with ZF Industries.

Kacie D. DuPuis

Kacie is a senior at the University of South Carolina with a 3.7 GPA, double majoring in international business and marketing with a minor in Russian.  Kacie was one of only 13 students selected for the Marketing Scholars course, which performs real world marketing work for real companies.  This semester the client was Chevrolet’s environmental fuel solutions initiative.  Kacie was chosen to be Director for the project, lead all four departments through the project.  She was selected as an Emerging Leader and serves on USC’s International Business Advisory Council. Kacie has also served as president and senior vice president of a national business service organization.

Jenna Elizabeth Gonsalves

Jenna is a rising senior double majoring in marketing and management science with an emphasis in global supply chain and operations management.  She has earned a 3.894 GPA.  In her sophomore year, Jenna earned a spot on the Moore School of Business’s highly competitive Case Competition Team.  With her fellow team members, she has traveled the globe, earning first place, second, third and finalist honors in Los Angeles, Thailand, Singapore and Montreal.  Jenna, a native of Indiana, was selected as a Moore School Emerging Leader for 2007 and 2008.  She has also interned with Caltherm Corp., in Columbus, IN and worked as consultant in the planning and supply chain department for MeadWestvaco here in Charleston.
